How are you getting here?
Which airport?

Your route

Estimates only. Drive times assume typical conditions and ferry sailings vary, so check the ferry schedule below. Roche Harbor is about 20 minutes from Friday Harbor.

    By Ferry

Washington State Ferries run from Anacortes to Friday Harbor. Reservations are strongly encouraged for cars.

    See the ferry schedule.

    Airport Shuttles

No rental car? Two shuttle services run from the Seattle area. Rates are approximate, so confirm with each provider.

    • Runs multiple times a day from Sea-Tac or downtown Seattle to the Anacortes ferry terminal, and back south for your return. About $50–65 each way, not including ferry fare.

    • Weekday service from Sea-Tac Airport straight to Roche Harbor. About $70–80 each way, ferry fare included.

    Where to stay

    Lodging

We have arranged a block of rooms at Roche Harbor Resort for your convenience, where the wedding will be held. While we hope many of you will be able to stay at the resort, please note that availability within our room block is limited and cannot accommodate all our guests.

We will open the room block and group code here as soon as our families have booked. We appreciate your patience until then.

While there are many different types of accommodations available (from single rooms to multiple bedroom houses), the majority of lodging options at the resort are multiple bedroom units, so please consider sharing with other family or friends.

To ensure you have a comfortable stay that suits your needs and budget, we recommend booking your accommodations as early as possible, and by June 1, 2027.

    At Roche Harbor Resort

Our block includes a mix of these accommodation types, from budget-friendly to luxury.

    • Quarryman Hall

The resort’s newest boutique suites, with balconies, gas fireplaces, and heated floors. Sleeps up to 4.

    • Hotel de Haro

A historic 1886 hotel with antique furnishings, offering suites and charming guestrooms. Sleeps up to 2.

    • McMillin Suites

Four deluxe king suites on a bluff, with claw-foot tubs and heated floors. Sleeps up to 2.

    • Harbor View & Lagoon View Condos

One- to three-bedroom condos with full kitchens and harbor-view balconies, a 6-minute walk from the resort center. Sleeps 4–10.

    • Historic & Premium Cottages

Two-bedroom cabins with full kitchens, fire pits, and BBQs, about a 4-minute walk from the resort center. Sleeps up to 6.

    • Village Homes

Spacious two- to four-bedroom homes with gourmet kitchens and outdoor space. Sleeps 6–10.

A one-night deposit (plus tax) secures your booking and is fully refundable if you cancel 30 days before arrival. Accommodations with kitchens require a two-night minimum stay.

    Other Places to Stay

If the resort is fully booked or if you prefer other options, there are many wonderful lodging alternatives nearby. Here are some suggestions:

Another great lodging resource: Visit San Juans.

Everything on the island is a short drive, and Roche Harbor has ample parking near the venue. Friday Harbor (the main town) is less than 20 minutes away from Roche Harbor.

    Q+A

    What should I wear?

    “Upstage the Bride” (Cocktail)

Our bride has given full permission: we want everyone looking their absolute best! Gentlemen: We encourage you to wear a suit. Boots and jeans will be promptly escorted off the premises.

What will the weather be like?

Early October in the San Juan Islands is crisp and cozy. Daytime temperatures usually land in the mid-50s to low 60s, and evenings cool off to the mid-40s, especially near the water. Showers are always possible, but the islands are drier than much of the Pacific Northwest, and many days are a mix of sun and clouds.

The reception will be indoor/outdoor with large fireplaces. See the event schedule for specifics.

    Can I bring my kids?

This is an adults-only weekend (with the exception of our nieces and immediate family). We hope this gives you an opportunity to enjoy a relaxing weekend away.

    Can I bring a plus-one?

Due to venue capacity and headcounts, we are only able to accommodate the guests explicitly named on your invitation. If you receive a plus-one, it will be listed on your invitation and reflected when you RSVP online.

    How do I get around?

For guests staying in Roche Harbor, everything is just a short stroll away. If you choose to stay off-resort, the island is small and extremely easy to navigate. We recommend a rental car or carpooling with friends/family.

    What about gifts?

Your presence at our wedding is genuinely all we could ask for! We know that a weekend with us on the island requires time, effort, and expense, and we are so grateful you’re making the trip. Please do not feel obligated to give a gift.

Should you still feel inclined, a contribution toward our Honeymoon Fund will help us create some incredible memories as newlyweds.

    Can I stay extra nights?

Yes. The block covers two nights, but you can request additional nights through the resort, based on availability. Book early for the best options.

    Is parking included?

Yes. You will get a complimentary parking pass, and there is plenty of parking near your accommodation.

Who do I contact with questions?

Feel free to contact Michael directly.
